Chinese authorities censor and ban "When a City Rises" and other pro - democracy films, art and literature. According to the new law, anything related to the pro-democracy movement can’t be shown or distributed. Artists and filmmakers can face severe punishment.
“When a City Rises” purpose is a historical record of what happened in the past few years with democracy in Hong Kong. The events can’t be erased and history can’t be silenced or banned.
Read The Guardian article by Helen Davidson to learn how Chinese authorities censor history.
